Who are we?
UNISON is one of the UK’s largest trade unions, serving more than 1.3 million members. We represent full-time and part-time staff who provide public services, although they may be employed in both the public and private sectors. Wolverhampton General Branch represents members across the city in areas such as Wolverhampton City Council, Wolverhampton Homes and Wolverhampton College as well members in acdemy schools and private care homes.
What do we do?
We negotiate staff pay, terms and conditions, and policies on behalf of members at a local and national level. Being a UNISON member gives you a voice and vote in these negotiations.
As a Branch, we campaign on the issues that matter to our members such as pay and the protection of public services.
UNISON members are entitled to representation and support from UNISON representatives in meetings relating to their employment, including meetings relating to the disciplinary, grievance and sickness management procedures.
Anyone can face problems at work but if you are a UNISON member, you don't have to face to face it alone
